THE ILLICITS FEEL IT

British four-piece The Illicits have dropped their new single, ‘Feel It’. It’s a rip-roaring slice of blues rock that draws from the progressive rock n roll sound they’ve developed over the course of their last few releases. The riffs are already stadium-ready, leaping from within a massive, dense texture that somehow still allows for those climactic vocal melodies to cut through. The track is designed to “conjure up familiar Lancashire moods: cold early morning walks, rain-soaked shoes and slow, clattering commutes on buses and trains. The lyrics centre around how the people around us speak — ‘but you have to keep on’ is a well-known Lancastrian phrase, despite modern-day life struggles.” The swaggering track gives off a vibe of a live performance already, but you can catch the band live around the UK on a three-date tour this October. -Dan Peeke.
